Biology

The study of biology is today more dynamic than it ever has been. Biotechnology, genetic engineering and recombinant DNA are terms that are certain to gain an ever-increasing profile in issues facing the broader community. Environmental impact and sustainability, ecology and taxonomy are terms also fundamental to biology. The ASO Biology Program includes all of the topics behind these terms and much more.

The Biology Scholar Training School is held at the Australian National University in Canberra. Team Training takes place at Easter for one week and again for about one week in a climate and time zone similar to that of the International Biology Olympiad.

Understanding the fundamental concepts, interactions and relevance of a wide range of biology topics is at the heart of the Program.

The ASO uses the following text for the Biology Scholar Program: Biology, 5th Edition, Neil Campbell; Benjamin/Cummings

Challenge your brain, boost your knowledge and experience the thrill of competing for a position in the Australian Science Olympiad Team.
